Planning Ahead

Every year I go to an incredibly elaborate Halloween party uptown. And by elaborate, I mean that all the guests are in over-the-top Halloween costumes, there is every kind of treat that you can possibly imagine (think chocolate fountains, pumpkin petit fours, and a million different kinds of cookies, cakes, cocktails, and candies), and there are spiderwebs, harvest bouquets, witches brooms, and carved jack-o-lanterns adorning the apartment. Somehow the overall effect is always elegant and tasteful rather than campy and cliche. Last year I tried to throw my own Halloween party for the first time, and it paled in comparison to the spectacular annual event that I look forward to every year. This year I'm starting early in my hunt to find the coolest and most unusual Halloween treats and decorations. So far I've found two good websites http://www.orientaltrading.com and http://www.grandinroad.com (both incredible sources), but I need some other ideas, so please share in the comments section.

Two Ideas for you, beauty: Abracadabra in Chelsea for spooky costumes and decortations and don't miss the pumpkin and fig gelato in Chelsea market! While you are in Chlesea market you can also pick up a scary mystery like the Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie in Posner's.
